The calculation keeps fuel and economy units aligned before multiplying. Distance-per-fuel units multiply directly; fuel-per-distance units are inverted first.

MPG: miles = gallons × MPG; km/L: kilometers = liters × km/L; L/100 km: kilometers = liters ÷ (L/100 km) × 100
